Parker Smith, the 2012-2013 Western Region Boatswain

I’m Parker, I’m 18, and I have been a Sea Scout for three years now. I have been an avid sailor pretty much all my life, and have sailed on a couple dozen different types of boats; and I have raced on more than a few of them. Over the past three years I have been a part of a few different ships including two in Florida where I learned to SCUBA dive. I also attended the 2010 National Jamboree as staff at the Sea Scout Exhibit. I qualified to compete in the Koch Cup 2012. Most recently I was appointed to the position of Western Region Boatswain.

As we go through this Centennial Year, my Boatswain’s Mate Lila and I will be working to promote Sea Scouts throughout the region. Our first project is to get in contact with all the ship boatswains in the region to set up a boatswain’s network.

  1. Awesome to have both of you involved with the Sea Scouts at the Region level. We look forward to hearing more about how you are helping spread the excitement of the Sea Scout and our centennial.
